What is the end in mind? For me, the end is living eternally with inexpressible joy in God’s Kingdom. It is simply perfect happiness in its essence. We have glimpses of that joy even now- in a child’s birth, in a joke, in the satisfaction of doing something good for someone else, in an answered prayer and etc. In short, God ‘winks’ at us every once in a while. He lets us know that He loves us and that He is active in our lives.
The same day that I was born, my dad (a Pastor) was performing a funeral service and was urgently called away from that event to be with my mother who was giving birth. The city was Sioux Falls, the state was South Dakota and the year was 1976. So my dad saw death and new birth on the same day. We often see contrasts in life, but that will not always be the case.
